Chicago 2017 Select Photos

From two days in Los Angeles to one long layover in Chicago. A city synonymous with the word metropolis. A city with an identity all its own. Strong contributions to architecture, cinema, and the sports world. A city that has forcefully yet expertly woven itself into the fabric of United States history. It is also a city that will drop freezing rain on you in May. I was dressed for Los Angeles not Chicago.  Continue reading

Los Angeles 2017 Select Photos

Los Angeles… Is it merely a place where people want to appear more important, more rich, more interesting than they really are? Is a higher status than those around you all there is to life? I can’t say it didn’t feel good cruising around Los Angeles in a fancy BMW 430i convertible. I can’t say I didn’t notice the curious glances and envious stares. Pulling up to the trendy K-Town restaurant, Quarters, and seeing the girls turn their heads as I pulled into the valet. Bonus Round and Cobra Arcade

There has definitely been a noticeable trend of arcade bars popping up around The Valley and even perhaps around the country. Everyone has their preference and when two similarly themed establishments open their doors, most people will tend to consistently gravitate to one over the other. Continue reading

The Sultry Lady

She was a feisty and devastatingly beautiful 4’11” Puerto Rican girl from Brooklyn in New York City. So delicate and soft in her appearance but had the fight to chop down the most powerful of men if she felt even slightly crossed. Continue reading

Where fire fell

“Swim dis way! C’ mon!” This crazy Hawaiian in a sarong whom I paid 20 bucks to take me out surfing at night says. It’s my very first time on a surfboard and I’m on my belly paddling as hard as I can in warm black water. “We need to swim past dat jetty and stay dher. Dah tide will keep pulling us back.” We’ve stopped and I’ve propped myself up to sit on the surfboard. I’ve never quite experienced anything like this. There’s so much activity, so many lights on the shore from towering hotels. So many starbursts from far off boats out on the horizon. Yet it’s quiet and hear only the sound of gentle waters. I wonder for a split moment if this is what paradise in outer space would feel like. Continue reading
