Las Vegas 2018 Select Photos

It doesn’t seem to matter how many times I’ve been, if I have the time, and I’m invited to go to Las Vegas, I go. Especially when it’s just a 45 minute flight and I’ll have someone with me to photograph and video. This time I stayed at The Aria and had a Strip view room. The best Las Vegas hotel room I’ve stayed in to date.

It seems like I’m in Las Vegas at least once a year. For those of you who follow, you’ll see a familiar face from my trip to Tokyo back in 2016. This time, my familiar friend invited me along while she attended a work retreat. Our first night, I scouted several places to photograph and video when I go back. Hopefully I’ll have a model come with me. The Strip at 4am on a weeknight is magical because it’s all yours.

The second day, while she was out with a full and exhausting itinerary of “vacation planned events”, I rolled out of bed at 11:30, grabbed breakfast, took a shower, swam and lounged by the pool for two hours, retreated to the room to rinse off, edited some photos while listening to music, staying out of the sun, wandered around to get some food at the Hash House around sunset, walked back, took a nap, then got dressed to go to the Encore Beach Club to relax in a VIP section. It was the laziest but one of the best days I’ve ever had in my countless times in Las Vegas. I don’t feel like I have to do everything or even anything anymore and it feels good.

I’ve photographed Las Vegas before, but this time I feel I took much higher quality photos. Employing both technical knowledge and compositional techniques before hitting the shutter. Knowing what I could fix in post and what photos to skip.

So onto the photos. I hope you enjoy this small gallery of select photos from my trip along the Las Vegas Strip. All photos taken around The Aria, The Cosmopolitan, and Bellagio area. Gear: Nikon D5500, 35mm 1.8f lens, Google Pixel, and a Gorilla Pod. Edited in Lightroom and Photoshop CC.

The entire album can be seen here. It’s a smaller album of mostly snapshots but there are a few videos from the club where Alesso was playing that night. Here’s a little bonus video from my Instagram Stories. I hope you all enjoy and stay safe in your travels.
